Results are planning estimates
Every YardCalc result is a planning estimate. It is a starting point for ordering and budgeting, not a guaranteed quantity.
Exact math, variable reality
The geometry and unit conversions are mathematically deterministic. One cubic yard always equals 27 cubic feet. The real amount of material a job needs is not deterministic, because the conditions around the math change from project to project.
Why real material needs vary
- Measurements can be slightly inaccurate
- Ground grade and shape can be uneven
- Material density varies by product
- Moisture can change weight
- Loose, settled, and compacted volumes differ
- Bag yields vary by manufacturer
- Prices, taxes, delivery charges, minimum orders, and availability vary
Not a substitute for professional guidance
Results do not replace engineering, architectural, contractor, supplier, manufacturer, safety, code, or legal guidance. Structural work in particular must be confirmed by a qualified professional.
Verify before you commit
Double check your measurements and specifications, and confirm the final quantity, price, and order increments with your supplier. YardCalc is not responsible for purchasing or construction decisions made solely from an estimate.
